CARTOONS and ILLUSTRATIONS
.
Bev Aisbett began her career as a cartoonist and illustrator with a weekly cartoon strip ‘Animal Revenge’ in the Melbourne Herald-Sun newspaper, followed by illustrations and cartoons in the Sunday Age , The Bulletin, New Weekly, New Woman and Woman’s Day. Soon after, two illustrated gift books, ‘Purrsonalities’* and ‘Muttmobiles’ *were published by Harper Collins.
The unique cartoon format of her groundbreaking books for sufferers of anxiety and depression, most notably, ‘Living with IT’ and ‘Taming the Black Dog’ created a new approach to the medium whereby Bev’s cartoons were used to convert complex psychological issues into accessible concepts. The cartoons provided readers with simple understanding as well as much-needed reassurance and healing humour.
This same talent for getting to the heart of the matter and finding the humorous gold within, has served Bev in her role as house cartoonist and illustrator for The Health Issues Journal
and Education Quarterly for the past sixteen years.
Bev has also been a regular illustrator for partner publishers Spinney Press and Independence Publishers (UK) for their youth education ‘Issues’ journals for the past decade.
Bev has also taught cartooning at various Adult Education classes (COUNCIL OF ADULT EDUCATION for five years) and children's workshops including ARTIST IN SCHOOLS program and STATE LIBRARY SUMMER SCHOOL.

Bev's work also includes cartoon logo designs, greeting cards, leaflets, booklets and training manuals.
