About Bev's Artworks

Bev Aisbett began her career as a cartoonist and illustrator with a weekly cartoon strip ‘Animal Revenge’ in the Melbourne Herald-Sun newspaper, followed by illustrations and cartoons in the Sunday Age , The Bulletin, New Weekly, New Woman and Woman’s Day. Soon after, two illustrated gift books, ‘Purrsonalities’* and ‘Muttmobiles’ *were published by Harper Collins.

The unique cartoon format of her groundbreaking books for sufferers of anxiety and depression, most notably, Living with IT and Taming the Black Dog created a new approach to the medium whereby Bev’s cartoons were used to convert complex psychological issues into accessible concepts. The cartoons provided readers with simple understanding as well as much-needed reassurance and healing humour.
